The Journal is the Volume — an annual, citable collection of peer-reviewed articles. Alongside the student-authored articles published throughout the year, the Journal is open to the whole field: counsel, in-house teams, academics, arbitrators, and recent graduates.
Every manuscript is read anonymously by two independent reviewers. Accepted articles are edited to publication standard and archived permanently under the Journal’s masthead.
Call for submissions
Volume I opens for submissions in Fall 2026
The first call for papers for the Journal will open in Fall 2026. Accepted articles will be published in Volume I, scheduled for publication in February 2027. Exact submission dates and themes will be announced here and through the Journal's channels.
Articles
6,000 to 12,000 words
Full-length scholarship, case comments, and practice notes advancing original arguments or close analysis in sports and entertainment law.

- All work must be original scholarship, not previously published or under review elsewhere.
- Include a 250-word abstract and a short author biography.
- Footnote every proposition in McGill Guide style (or the Bluebook, where appropriate).
- Remove identifying information from the manuscript itself; the Journal reviews blind.
- Email the manuscript as a .docx attachment with the subject line “Journal Submission”.
The review process

Desk review
The editorial team screens each manuscript for scope, originality, and readiness.

Blind peer review
Anonymised manuscripts go to two independent reviewers with subject-matter expertise.

Revision
Authors respond to reviewer reports with the support of an assigned editor.
04
Publication
Accepted articles appear in the annual volume with a permanent citation.
